1.Is there anyone that I can contact to fit RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR for me?
Please check our Installer/Distributor page to see if there’s a qualified Doormate installer in your area. Otherwise you can use any licensed electrician or your local handyman.

2.Do I need a power supply to run the RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR ?
Yes, Doormate is powered by a low voltage, 24V DC power adapter/transformer with a 1.5 metre (59 inches) long cord, suitable for use in any country with 110-240V AC mains power outlet. Additional 2 metre (78.5 inches) extension cords sold seperately if required to connect to the nearest power point/socket.


3.What if there is a power failure?
If there is a main power failure the sliding door reverts back to a manual sliding door. The door can still open and close manually with ease.


4.If the door is manually locked and someone tries to open the door by pulling it or activating the push button or sensor, will that damage the RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR motor?
No. Doormate will attempt to open the door 3 times but will quickly revert back to close if it is unable to open. No damage to the system.


5.If a visitor does not know that I have RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR installed and goes and pulls open the door manually while it is in Automatic mode, will that damage the system or motor?
No. This is also described as a Power Assist or Pull Assist which is a built-in function of the Doormate where a gentle pull of the door handle will activate a full open.


6.How long does it take to install an RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR unit?
On average 20-40 minutes.


7.Does the RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR unit have a locking system?
No. Doormate only automates the existing sliding door. Use the existing manual lock on the door as usual at night or when no one’s home or you can engage a licenced locksmith to wire an external 24V 2-core Electric locking system to
work with Doormate. See below.


8.Will RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR  work with an electronic locking system?
Yes. Doormate Version 2 works with any 24V Electronic Fail-Safe locks. Doormate Version 3 works with both fail-safe and fail-secure electronic locks. Please email us (info@esafemate.com) if you are unsure which Doormate version you
have. We only supply the additional 2-core cable to wire an electronic lockback to the Doormate system. We do not supply the locks and do not assume any liability whatsoever for the use of any external electronic locking system with
the Doormate system. Please consult your nearest licensed locksmith or home automation expert.

9.What door weight can the RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR unit take?
Doormate can handle doors where the sliding panel is up to 60 kg. However, it must be friction free / free-running. Note: Weather seals and brush affect the overall weight / pull friction force of door.


10.Is RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR CE approved?

Yes


11.How long is the warranty?
Doormate comes with a 2 years limited manufacturer’s warranty.


12.What if Doormate does not work on my door can I send it back?
Yes! But before you do call us or the retailer so we can help you, but if in the end you want to return the product send it back complete to whomever you purchased it from and they will refund your money less a 25% restocking fee.

13.Can RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR work with a remote?
Yes, Doormate system has a built in multi-channel receiver. Remote controls can easily be learnt into the RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR system. Up to 15 remotes can be used on one Doormate unit.


14.How wide can the RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR unit open a door?
Standard length of racks supplied is 1 metre (39.37 inches) and you will achieve a maximum opening width of 960mm (37.79 inch). Extension racks for wider doors sold seperately.


15.Can I change the width open size?
Yes, by simply turning the isolation switch off and then back on, place foot behind door to where you want it to stop opening and the door will automatically program itself to the new size opening


16.What colours does RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR come in?
RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR unit comes in white or black, but can be repainted by the purchaser.


17.What happens if the door hits someone?
RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR comes with built-in safety reverse feature. If the door comes in contact with someone, or any object, the door will automatically reverse to the opposite direction.


18.Can the door stay open when required?
Yes, by pressing the mode button to Hold Open mode – blue light.


19.What is Pet mode?

You can program RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR to open the door to a width that suits the size of your pet. Once programmed, you have the option of leaving the RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR in pet mode, which will only open the door to the pre-programmed width you have set.

20.What is Automatic mode?
The door will automatically open and then time out and close automatically.


21.What is Hold Open mode?
This mode will permanently leave the door in the open position.


22.What is Manual mode?
RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR will disengage the motor drive and allow the user to use door in manual operation NB: All settings will still be stored in memory.


23.What type of sensor is used to open the door?
The basic kit comes with 2 x wireless wall mounted push buttons, but additional products and sensors such as infra red sensors, pet sensors and mini remote controls can also be used.


24.Can my existing remote for my garage door work with the RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR ?
Unfortunately not, the RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR  remote control system is an advanced transmitter and receiver system, with a different electronic code to that of an existing garage door.


25.Does RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR fit left and right opening doors?
Yes, by changing the motor and main drive system using a 3mm allen key supplied in the kit. Please watch our Re-Handing video under our Video section


26.Can RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR be fitted to transom or floor?
It can be fitted to either top or bottom fixings, depending on the owners decision.


27.Can I use RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR for pool entries?
RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR can be fitted to most free running doors, including doors leading to pool entries. However, the user must check with the local council or authorised parties to see if their policy allows
RESIDENTIAL AUTO SLIDING DOOR OPERATOR to be used in this application.
